Mandy and Richard warmly welcome you to their lovingly restored 16th century family home. A building of long and varied past, which was renamed in 1997 to Elbie House. It is one of the oldest buildings in the area and even boasts the signature of Sir Winston Churchill amongst the deeds.
In the early days of the extensive renovation, undertaken by Richard and Mandy, an elderly lady in her 90's called by to tell a story of her childhood growing up in Elbie House. At the time it was a farmers' meeting place and she recalled a caged dancing bear coming along too! No longer dancing bears, but dogs, chickens, rabbits and bearded dragons all live in harmony.
Rooms
Elbie House has 3 rooms reserved for visitors which have their own private entrance allowing guests to come and go as they please. The ground floor rooms have easy access.
Our three ensuite B & B rooms (“RoseWalk”, "Topiary" and “Valley View”) are located in a separate purpose built wing of the house, accessed directly through the main front door, there is no requirement to enter main part of house to access the rooms.
